Programme Note
This work came about after my participation in the Garden Opera project organised by Covent Garden in 1988.
The work combines different fragments of three poems by Rosario Castellanos to give continuity to a dramatic narrative in the score. Text based on poems about Hecuba and the events of 1968 in Mexico by Mexican poet Rosario Castellanos.
